The Noordam is the oldest ship that is in service of the Holland America Line. She and her sister ship the Nieuw Amsterdam, now in service as the Patriot for the United States Lines, were constructed at Chantiers de l´Atlantique where also the Normandie and the France were built. She has some sharp lines and edges in her design, which is more commonly seen in 1980 ship designs.
